Call them granny boots or a number of other things. If you’re shopping on eBay or Etsy their names are as long as the site allows.Granny, pixie, elf, punk, grunge, victorian, tall, lace-up, oxford, brogue, ankle BOOTS.
It’s exhausting!! But people know what they are searching for and the sellers know it too.
They are the current HOT, 2010 item and for good reason. They are mid 80s to early 90s style. They are the fashion of TODAY! Everyone (with mad style) wants them.
They cannot be found in your average mall store and there are no re-makes (to date), which makes them less publicly exploited. A vintage connoisseur loses a little love for items which have been re-made and re-marketed in today’s culture. All you vintage shoppers know what I’m talking about. It’s not as fun when you’re average joe can drop in any Urban Outfitters
or Forever 21 and find a new version boots (or clothes) we hold sacred based on age, and difficulty to obtain. The reward is in the hunt. “Easy” does not coincide with “Vintage”. They are, in truth, opposites.
There are a few GREAT eBay stores to find good granny boots. Check out the link section ?
